Snowman's story.
Wild horse stallion Snowman, captured and removed from his home range on January 12th, 2021 by the BLM.
On July 30th, 2021 he was saved from being in BLM holding for the rest of his life, or worse, being killed because of an eye injury ( very common reason by BLM to euthanize horses ). With the help and support of a loving horse community through donations and with the safe landing space offered by The Great Escape Mustang Sanctuary(GEMS) he was spared a terrible ending that most captured wild horses live for the rest of their lives. We are hopeful GEMS can save him and bring him back from what his removal from his home range has caused. At approximately 23 years of age, he should have been allowed to stay in his home to live out his days in freedom.In just over six months Snowman went from a strong mighty stallion to a fragile shell of a horse under the BLM's "care".
